Paid Leave for Volunteering at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Published:

Being one of the closest Universities to the Olympic site in Stratford,
Queen Mary, University of London is supporting and encouraging all staff
to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity. One of the biggest
ways to be a part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games is to
volunteer through the Games Maker programme. With 70,000 volunteers
needed, there are over 500 different roles available to volunteer at
many locations across London.

The College will give up to two weeks paid leave in addition to the
normal leave entitlement for staff that successfully obtain and
undertake one of the volunteering places at the games. Applications for
that leave will be approved by your School, Institute or Department Head
and is conditional on there being sufficient staff resources to be able
to meet the College’s needs at the time.
