USS Employer Consultation – Staff Briefings

Published:

The period of consultation on the proposals for change to the USS pension scheme ends on 22 May 2015. If you still have questions about the proposals you are welcome to attend an open briefing session which is being led by the pensions team in HR. We have also invited an Independent Financial Adviser, Gary O’Neill from Austin Chapel to each of the briefings to answer individual questions and talk with staff about the implications for their pensions benefits. Gary has provided independent financial advice to staff in higher education for many years.

There will be three lunchtime briefings:

Mile End: Monday 18 May at 12pm - 1pm in Mason Lecture Theatre, Bancroft Building, Mile End.  Click here to book a place.

Whitechapel: Tuesday 19 May at 12pm - 1pm in Bearsted Lecture Theatre, Alex Wing, Royal London Hospital.  Click here to book a place.

Charterhouse Square: Wednesday 20 May at 12pm - 1pm in Willoughby Lecture Theatre, John Vane Science Centre, Charterhouse Square.  Click here to book a place.

Each of the sessions are open to all current USS members and staff eligible to join the scheme.

USS have provided a comprehensive website (www.ussconsultation.co.uk) to support the consultation process and this includes a Q&A section and benefit modellers.

If you are not able to attend one of these briefings there is still the opportunity to meet with or send any questions you have about the proposals to one of the Pensions Officers at pension@qmul.ac.uk

Previous updates and information on the background to these changes can be viewed here.
