The 2017 Academic Promotions round is now open and will take place between January and August 2017.
The promotion round will be conducted according to procedures laid down in the Academic Promotion Guidance Notes 2017 [DOC 127KB] , which form part of the Conditions of Service for Academic Staff. In case of any issues of interpretation, the wording in this document is definitive.

The 2017 Academic Promotions Round will consider:
Promotion to Research Grade 7 or above (for Research staff currently on Research Grades 6 or 7)
Promotion to Senior Lecturer (for Academic staff currently on Academic Grades 5 or 6)
Conferment of title of Reader (for Academic staff currently on Academic Grades 5, 6 or 7)
Conferment of title of Professor (for Academic staff currently on Academic Grades 5, 6 or 7)
Academic or Research staff wishing to apply for promotion should read the above Guidance Notes before making an application.
Staff wishing to apply for promotion should complete the Academic Promotion Application Document 2017 [DOC 89KB] . Please note the Applicant Statement and CV sections of the Application Document must be submitted in the format stated in the guidance notes. Any applications submitted that are not in the correct format will be returned to the applicant for amendment.
Applications must be emailed to your Head of School or Institute Director by Tuesday 31 January 2017.
